Abstract The two fish species, Clarias lazera & Oreochromis niloticus were injected experimentally with Pseudomonas fluorescence and Flavobacterium. Blood parameters, liver enzymes, serum electrolytes ( Na & K ), serum glucose and total protein were estimated. Clarias lazera represented significant decrease in Hb concentration, M.C.H.C., glucose, total protein and serum electrolytes. The liver enzymes insignificantly increased. Oreochromis niloticus showed highly significant drop in Hb concentration, RBCs and M.C.H.C. The serum total protein, glucose and electrolytes significantly decreased while liver dysfunction was expressed as significant increase of its enzymes. The total leucocytic counts significantly decrease in both species.
