Larval trypanorhynchid cestode and nematode infection in Egyptian white shrimp, Penaeus setiferus

| Abstract |
Out of 300 specimens of Egyptian white Shrimp (Penaeus setiferus) collected at Port Said markets, 33 (11%) were infected with Trypanorhynchid larva of Otobothrium species While, 30 (10%) harbourd nematode larvae, of which 6% and 4% revealed Ascaris bidentata and Contracaecum salvelini larvae respectively . The revealed nematode and Cestode larvae considered as a new record in white Shrimp in Egypt. The morphological characters of each larva were illustrated. Also, the public health importance of the nematode larvae was discussed.
