English : Bacterial causes of respiratory disorders in Buffalo-Calves in Egypt
Arabic : الاسباب البكتيرية للاضطرابات التنفسية فى عجول الجاموس حد يثة الولادة في مصر .
Abstract Bacteriological examination of 210 various samples collected from buffalo-calves with respiratory disorders revealed that, samples were positive with an incidence of 87.1% this incidence was (13.8%) concerning the samples obtained from apparently healthy animals. -Out of 202 positive cases, 162 (80.2%) were due to single infection and 40 cases (19.8%) were due to mixed infection with two micro-organisms. -242 isolates were recovered from positive cases belonged to various bacterial genera and species with various incidence . -Haemophilus somnus, P. aeruginosa. Salmonella species, Str. Pyogenes and K. pneumoniae were not isolated from apparently healthy buffalo-calves . -All isolates of Haemophilas somnus strains (15), isolated were highly virulent to mice within 3-5 days post-inoculation with 7.5 X 106 viable organisms intraperitoneaty .
