Abstract Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis has been the focus of several studies in the last few years, it is not only considered as the causative organism of animal lymphadenitis but also it is one of the causative agent of foot rot disease. In this study, the isolation of C. pseudotuberculosis was the most predominant isolate where it was isolated from caseous lymphadenitis with a percentage of 29.4 and 14.7 from foot rot disease. Phospholipase D (PLD) is found to be an important exotoxin playing a great role in the propagation of the disease. Tested samples of C. pseudotuberculosis were subjected to PCR .The PLD genes of these samples were amplified by PCR .The length of amplified products by PCR was found to be the same as the positive samples although only one set of primers was used.
