Occurrence of Clostridium perfringens in healthy and diseased ornamental fish.

| Abstract |
This study was concerned about the occurrence of Clostridium perfringens organism in some ornamental fish and prevalent that its present in diseased fish were 50% Goldmolly, 25%, Guppy, 60% Veiltail gold, and the apparent healthy ones were 14.3% Goldmolly, 12.5% Guppy and 40% Veiltail gold. By classifying these isolates, it was found that for Clostridium perfringens types A, (A & D) together and non toxigenic isolates. Experimental infection with isolated Clostridium perfringens type A for the Veiltail gold fish orally and intramuscular infection gave the clinical signs and the dissection was found like that of the infected and dead one.
