Sixty nine clinically affected lymph nodes of slaughtered cattle were subjected for bacteriological, parasitological and pathological studies.

The isolates were Staphylococcus aureus (17.4%), Streptococcus pyogenes (14.5%), Actinomyces pyogenes (10.1%, Corynebacterium bovis (10.1%) Esherichia coli (11.6%) and Klebsiella oxytoca (7.2%). The most important pathological lesions recorded were haemorrhagic lymphadenitis (23.2%), fibrinous lymphadenitis (5.8%), necrotic lymphadenitis (21.8%), parasitic lymphadenitis (5.8%) due to Theleria spp. Infection, chronic lymphadenitis (26%, fatty changes in (5.8%) and emphysema in 11.6%. The correlation between the causative pathogens and its related histopathological changes were studied and discussed in details
