English : Rural women's attitudes towards using pure drinking water and the impact on environment of Ibshadat village ,Menia governorate

Abstract The study main objectives were: (1) to determine level of rural woman's attitudes towards using drinking water, (2) to determine the most important variables effected these attitudes, (3) to identify impacts of housing wastes (solid-liquid) on the village environment. data were collected during the first week of February ,2005, ,A random sample 376 rural women from Ibshadat village / Minia Governorate , were selected . A pre-tested written questionnaire and interpersonal interviews were used in collecting data. Simple correlation coefficient , percentage ,frequency, step-wise forward multiple regression , arithmetic mean , and standard deviation were used in analyzing the obtained study data. The main findings of the study were as the following: 1- The majority of respondent (66.8%) had negative attitudes towards using drinking water. 2- Husband education, indirect use of use drinking water, the average of family members education, rural house modernization, respondent age were explain (42.6%) of the total variance of rural woman attitudes towards using pure drinking water. 3- The study responds paid lots of attention to availability of some harmful impacts, as a consequence of the unwise water use and the faulty ways of getting rid of the used water, those mentioned symptoms included, flowing of bad smells from water sanitary drainage, intensive reproduction of mosquitoes and widespread of different diseases, fish mortality, agricultural vegetable, and crop contamination. Deterioration agricultural soil ,and animal product contamination. Coordination among different administrations of ministries of agriculture, local administration, irrigation should be accomplished. This may be perceived as a way to avoid agricultural soil deterioration, low agricultural and animal productivity, to enhance preservation of water resources from different pollutants, and to accomplish integration of different water projects through conducting treatment unites to sanitary drainage water.
