Abstract |
This study aimed at developing a valid and reliable scale for subject matter specialists (SMS) attitude towards work in agricultural extension, and using this scale to determine the attitude level of SMSs working in extension colers towards work in Agricultural Extension. The scale pre-test was initiated with 18 items and was tasted on all the 36 SMSs working in the five working Extension center in Menofia governorate and who participated in extension meetings with farmers during the monthly plan of 20/8 – 19/9/2001.
Correlation between each item and the total degree of the scale, as well as the total degree of its component, and between each component, and the total degree of the scale were coleulated to test the scale validity, as a result, 16 items were selected representing the highest scores.
Regarding the guidance of scale
1-Finding reveal in its final shape that it consist of 16 statements where demonstrated a high degree of validity and reliability, when reliability coefficient showed 0.736 the intrinsic validity result showed 0.858 findings also reveal that the logical validity result of the scale showed also a high degree.
2-44.4% of the respondents of (S.M.S.) had positive attitude towards working in agricultural extension it was neutral and negative for 55.6% of them.
