Abstract This research aimed mainly to study level of health and nutritional awareness and practice of rural women in pregnancy and child raising stages in some villages in Alexandria and Behira governorates. The study was carried out through achieving goals: 1- Assess level of health and nutritional awareness in pregnancy and child raising stages. 2- Assess level of health and nutritional practice in pregnancy and child raising stages. 3- Identify the relationship between health and nutritional awareness practice and some Socio-economic characteristics. Data were collected through personal interview questionnaire from land random sample of farmers wives consisted of 300 women counting 75 females from the ideal village and khorshid (Alexandria governorate), and Gawad Hosny and El-Wastanya (El-Behira Governorate). Percentages. Frequencies, Simple correlation and multiple liner regration were used in analyzing and presenting the data. Data indicated the following: 1- Low level of health awareness were observed among respondents generally. 2- The level of food awareness and practice were lower for Behira respondents than that for Alexandria respondents. 3- The level of food practice were higher for Alexandria respondents than that for Behira respondents. 4- There was a positive significant relationship between information resources, level of planning for pregnancy educational level of respondents and level of respondents and level of food awareness and practice. 5- There was positive significant relationship between information resources, level of planning for pregnancy, educational level of respondents and level of health practice, while there was a negative significant relationship for respondents age family size. 6- There was positive significant relationship between information resources, level of planning for pregnancy respondents age, educational level of respondents and level of food practice while there was a negative significant relationship for family size.
