English : The speaking skills of the agricultural extensional workers in Gharbia governorate

Abstract This research aims at determining the degree of training needs for Agricultural extension workers in Gharbia governorate regarding to the speaking skills and identifying the levels of their speaking skills. The research was conducted in Gharbia governorate. Data were collected from population amounted to 90 respondents representing all the extension workers in mentioned governorate during May 2005. Arithmetic mean standard deviation, percentages and frequencies were used to describe and analyze data statistically. The main results of this research were as follows: 1-More than 43% of the total respondents did not have any training programs in the field of agricultural extension. 2-12% only of total respondents studied agricultural extension sciences. 3-More than half of the respondents (51.1%) have low and medium level of the speaking skills, this means that more than half of the extension workers are in need for the speaking skills training program to develop them in this aspect.
