Handling ways of farmer's spouses regarding nutritional agricultural products in two Egyptian villages

| Abstract |
The main objectives of this study were to:
1- Identify the handling ways of farmer's spouses regarding nutritional agricultural products.
2- Identify income spending aspects of some agricultural products from point of view farmer's spouses.
The study was conducted in two villages which were selected randomly from different geographical areas which were Aba-Al Wakf in El-Menia and Demro in Kafr El-Sheikh.
A sample of 216 respondents representing 5% of farmer's spouses selected randomly from the investigated area.
Data were collected by personal interviews using protested questionnaires Frequencies and parentages were used to present data.
The study revealed the following results:
1- Cereals came in the first rank among the agricultural products by farmer's spouses, poultry and dairy product came in the second and third rank, respectively.
2-The majority of respondent the farmer's spouses produced cereals for consumption and marketing in the two villages under study.
3-About third of farmer's spouses fattened cattle's for marketing and consumption.
4-More than one third of farmer's spouses processed dairy products for family consumption and about half of them processed dairy products for marketing and consumption.
5-The majority of respondents tended to raise poultry for family consumption only.
6-The respondents mentioned number of income spending aspects of some agricultural products. The important ones were: spending for children education, he seeds, fertilizers purchasing and spending for getting clothes and get daily needed of food and drink.
