Abstract The jatropha seeds are good source of oil, representing from 34.88 to 57.7% in seed kernel, but it is unsuitable for human consumption. Total fatty acids ranged from 76.34% to 86.76% free alklial was less than 0.1% moisture content ranged from 12.53 to 14.50% free acidity eas almost 0.01%, salt alkial and the water insoluble materials were less than 1.0% and those insoluble in alch..were about 1.0%. - On the other hand, the properties of soap samples obtained by using the fried discarded sunflower oil and palm olein and their blends with olive and coconut oils were similar to those of toilet-soap according to the same description except for the free acidity and the water and alcohol insoluble material in which a lower increase was recoeder compared to the previously mentioned standard.
