Abstract |
The aim of this study was effect of plane of nutrition on performance of crossbred heifers through growth, pregnancy and lactation. Also, improving of fertility of crossbred heifers and milk production. Thirty Friesian crossbred heifers was divided two experimental groups of fifteen animals for each group. The first group were fed according to station system and the heifers in the second group were given maintenance and production requirements according to NRC (1988) of the TDN, CP minerals and vitamins. The results of this study are summarized as fallow.
- Daily total DM, feed units as TDN, DCP were increased for modified group than control group.
- Average age at puberty, at first service, at conception of modified group was the best than that of control group. The same trend was observed by number of services per conception and conception rate of percent per calving or part calving. The average of milk yield and composition and return for lactating cows were increased with modified group than control group.
Conclusions:
Therefore, by using a better plan of nutrition according to (NRC, 1988) and better management program, should be adapted and applied with along term objective to improving the productive and reproductive performance of Friesian crossbred cows under Egyptian local conditions.
