| Abstract |
The study was carried out on a total of 12662 test day records and 3379 standardized lactation records for 2207 Churra dairy ewes. Genetic parameters were estimated and environmental effects were studied through REML algorithm with a repeatability animal model. Breeding values were predicted using BLUP-AM.
Conclusion:
The results are not enough to claim that test day milk records present a good alternative to standardized records for selection schemes based on repeatability animal model.
