English : Fattening Friesian calves on Non- Conventional rations contaning non-hormonal growth promoters.
Arabic : تسمين العجول الفريزيان على علائق غير تقليدية محتوية على منشطات نمو غير هرمونية.
Abstract Thirty Friesian calves of about 155 kg live body weight divided into 5 treatments, (1) control, (2, 3) fed rations contained 20 % sun dried rumen contents and (4 and 5) fed rations contained 40 % sun dried rumen contents (of the ration CP). T3 and T5 received 300 gm lasalocid/ton ration. Average daily gain, feed conversion, some rumen and blood parameters, and economic efficiency for fattening trials were determined. In the end of the experiment 2 calves from each treatment were slaughtered to determine dressing %, boneless meat, physical and chemical characteristics. Results indicated that the use of sun dried rumen contents in the ration is usefully and economic and did not cause any adverse effects on the production performances. Also, lasalocid caused slight increase in average daily gain. Key Words: Rumen contents, waste of slaughter House, lasalocid, Friesian calves performance and carcass characteristics.
