Arabic : دراسة تأثير مستخلص الحلبة علي صورة الليبيدات ومستوى بعض الهرمونات للفئران المرضعات
Abstract The present investigation was carried out to study the effect of deodorized fenugreek water extract on the activation or stimulation of prolactin and progesterone hormone of lactating female rats. Twenty lactating female rats were fed fenugreek extract i.e, (traditional, deodorized either fresh or stored) at first day of birth and followed for 30 days. The amount of extract was 15-20nl/day. Total phenols and tannins were determined in fenugreek extract. Lipid profile, prolactin and progesterone were determined in serum at zero, 15 and 30 days of birth. The obtained data showed an increase in serum prolactin and progesterone. The most effective solution was that stored for 6 months followed by the fresh and traditional ones. On the other hand, similar trend was found concerning lipid profile, i.e., triglycerides (from 59.8 to 50.4 mg/dl), total cholesterol (from 97.8 to 80.1 mg/dl), HDL (from 52.9 to 43.93 mg/dl), LDL (from 32.82 to 25.8mg/dl), VLDL (from 11.96 to 10.08mg/dl). The results for total phenols and total tannins showed that the fresh extract was characterized by the highest amounts being 17.65 ± 0.35 and 75.02 ± 2.3 mg/100g, respectively. Traditional extract was characterized with the lowest total phenols (11.96± 0.43 mg/100g) while stored extract at room temperature (25 ± 2°C) resulted in the lowest tannins (56.57±3.2mg/100g).
